One of the best friends that a busy person can have in their kitchen is a crockpot or slow cooker. Typically, one just has to toss in some ingredients, set the appliance on low for a few hours, and then come back for all or a good part of a delicious, home-cooked meal. Here follow three great recipes, each of which just needs a little preliminary prep time.

Creamy Chicken

Ingredients

One and a half pounds of boneless chicken breasts

A stick of butter

Juice of two lemons

Tablespoon of Italian herbs

Three minced garlic cloves

One cup heavy cream

One cup corn starch.

Procedure

Toss in all the ingredients except for the heavy cream and corn starch. Cook on low for five hours

Mix the heavy cream and corn starch and add to the rest. Cook on low for another two hours.

Pull apart the chicken, which should be super tender, with a pair of forks. Serve on top of cooked pasta or rice.

Beef stew

Ingredients

Two pounds of stewing beef or cubed beef chuck

One cup of flour

Five diced carrots

Two diced potatoes

Two cups of chicken broth

Two minced garlic cloves

One diced onion
