4 Spring Sensations Compatible for Holding in Electric Food Warmers

Food Warmer

Not every dish is built to last.

What we mean by that is that not every recipe can withstand holding in an electric food warmer. Due to many factors—such as the integrity of the ingredients and the temperatures at which they retain optimal quality—, some dishes just withstand the holding process better than others.

Rather than forcing you into a long process of personal trial and error, we've put together a list of cook-and-hold options for you to consider. Look them over, see which ones pique your interest, and give them a try.

Spring Sensations

Herby Spring Chicken Pot Pie

A rare combination of both hearty and healthy, this dish is packed with seasonal veggies and comfort food flavors. It's also relatively easy to throw together, making it an ideal solution for busy cooks.

Fettuccine with Shiitakes and Asparagus

This vegetarian option is a fun twist on carbonara. Fully flavorful but with fewer calories, it's a good choice for discriminate diners. We should mention, however, that the recipe does call for raw egg, which isn't for everyone.

Raw egg is not recommended for infants, the elderly, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems…or people who don't like raw eggs.

Use your discretion.

Crustless Mini Quiches

These delightful little flavor bombs are perfect for options for spring breakfasts, brunches, or as appetizers at any meal. Recommended with broccoli and cheddar cheese, they're also fully adjustable. Tomato and asparagus or mushroom and onion—the possibilities are nearly endless.

Marinated Grilled Artichokes

With only a 5-minute prep time and 10-minute cook time, this simple and zesty option has our mouths watering just thinking about them.  They're the perfect complement to nearly any spring entree. And they're vegan!
