The Prime Minister uses Thermodyne’s patented Fluid Shelf technology that never forces the prime rib to go above a set temperature, which means yields are as high as 90% and the meat can be held at a finished temperature until the entire loin is sold.

Prime Rib is considered by many to be one of the most delicious and choicest cuts of meat available. As a premium cut of steak, Prime Rib can command top dollar and provide a great return on investment. However, due to factors such as cost, waste and product limitations, many restaurants do not offer Prime Rib regularly. Despite the enhanced flavor and tenderness, many restaurants are hesitant to offer Prime Rib on a consistent basis.

At a typical fine-dining or steak-house-style restaurant, you will notice the menu doesn’t always include Prime Rib as a selection. Often, if it does include Prime Rib, there is a very limited supply depending on the day of the week. As a premium piece of meat, the demand for Prime Rib can be high, and thus the cost would be increased for the customer who orders the meal. However, preparing Prime Rib can be very labor-intensive and takes between 12-16 hours to properly cook. Many restaurants and foodservice operators are reluctant to offer Prime Rib due to fear of wasted product. Depending on the volume of customers that order Prime Rib, up to 50% of a loin could be wasted on any given night. Equipment limitations, the rising cost of beef, and the high cost of labor are also factors that dissuade foodservice operators from offering Prime Rib on a more consistent basis.

The Thermodyne Prime Minister oven allows users to cook and hold the prime rib for an extended period of time without negatively affecting the flavor or appearance of the product. With easy setup and functionality, the Prime Minister features a programmable smart controller with a temperature probe. Additionally, the controller offers Wi-Fi and networking capabilities as well as a maximum operating temperature of 230°F. The interior dimensions of the unit are 13.50″ W x 22.00″ D x 29.38″ H, which allows for 4.86 ft³ of cubic capacity. Operating at 120v, the unit requires a simple single-phase power source. Optional features include a protective bumper base, additional heat transfer plates, an extension base, solid stainless-steel doors, a solid back panel, and a stainless-steel drip pan.

Users of the Prime Minister can expect consistent results, reliable holding temperatures, and overall reduced product waste. Premium cuts of meat can be held for extended periods of time, at an even temperature, without extreme spikes, drops, or temperature fluctuations. This enables products to be cooked at a lower temperature to produce a medium rare finished and be held for a prolonged amount of time. With precise cooking and holding temperatures, the Prime Minster minimizes shrinkage, which allows for greater yields.
