Is Your Company Van Equipped to Provide an All-in-One Catering Service?

Just because winter is on its way doesn't mean you won't be asked to cater events in the outdoors. When you're far away from anything but a socket or two, it's important to have all of the equipment you need to make things run smoothly. All of that equipment means you need a van, too, and don't let your car limit your options. Here are a few considerations to keep in mind when you're selecting the right van for your company:

The height:

You can get by with nothing more than a food warmer, especially at rustic events. Thermodyne's 1900G is 77” high, so you need a van with the clearance to carry it. If that's not an option, or you're worried about unloading it by yourself, don't worry. The 1300G is just 54” high, and that's something almost every cargo van can handle. Bring two units to all-day events.

The battery capacity:

Sometimes there aren't even sockets, and your client might be too busy to think of bringing a generator. Consider carrying your own and charging your client for the convenience (and the fuel) while securing that five-star review on Yelp. If that's not an option, carry around an inverter to use your car's back-up battery. A lot of vans carry a spare, especially travel vans.

Total holding capacity:

Food warmers, cooking equipment, the ingredients themselves… there's a lot to carry to each job. Your car needs room for the actual supplies and the shelves to hold it in place for the journey. That's why our smallest food warmer makes the most of 14.24 cubic feet and leaves you plenty of storage space.

All signs may point to a Sprinter with an extended roof, but sometimes a car with all the bells and whistles isn't an option. That's why Thermodyne Foodservice Products, Inc. has a wide range of catering equipment with different sizes and capabilities. Browse to find the right tools for your business here.
