Exciting Marinades to Jumpstart 2018

According to Epicurious, there really is only one marinade: The Only Marinade You'll Ever Need.

I can't think of a single food that doesn't taste better bathed in it. You can use it as both a marinade and a basting sauce. If marinating poultry, meat, or seafood, simply set a portion aside for basting.

Most of us aren't exclusive with our marinades, however. If you find yourself looking for a few more options, read on.

For those who favor white meat, consider this Butterflied Chicken with Thyme, Lemon, and Garlic. After two hours soaking in the marinade, your chicken will be ready to slap on the grill. Serve with some savory sides and a sweet dessert.

For a good red meat option, consider this Bulgogi Marinade. Served on fresh lettuce leaves or over white rice, this traditional Korean dish is sure to please. Some sautéed veggies on the side wouldn't go amiss.

Of course, if you're looking to get inventive, you could always concoct your own marinade. Just be sure to follow the advice of experts and avoid common mistakes.
